Mark Godden has created works for Boston Ballet, American Ballet Theatre (studio company), Canada’s Royal Winnipeg Ballet, Les Grands Ballet Canadiens, Northern Ballet Theatre (UK), Ballet Florida, Compania Nacional de Danza (Mexico), Ballet Contemporania (Argentina), Ballet Memphis, Alberta Ballet, Ballet de Jalisco, Ballet British Columbia, Ballet Met, Charlotte Ballet, and Ballet Nacional del Peru.

Godden is Resident Choreographer for the prestigious Harid Dance Conservatory and was Resident Choreographer for the Royal Winnipeg Ballet. He won Top Honors in choreography in both Varna, Bulgaria and Helsinki, Finland international ballet competitions. He is a recipient of the notable Choo-San Goh award.

Godden’s ballet Dracula was adapted for film and won an Emmy for Best Performing Arts Film; Dracula also won Best Choreography at The Monaco Film Festival. Godden’s Magic Flute film won a Gemini for Best Ensemble Performance.

Godden Directed the 2006 Olympic Games Flag Hand-over Ceremony in Torino, Italy.

In 2014 Godden’s full-length ballet Going Home Star - Truth and Reconciliation was a three-year project based on the forced assimilation of Canada’s First Nations Peoples. Godden premiered Rite of Spring with Fort Wayne Ballet in January 2025 and has acquisitions in Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre and Orlando Ballet for the 25/26 season.
